Cookbook Critic: 'Scoop' makes ice cream easy, even for novices

“Dinner parties got more interesting. I always brought dessert,” Lum says as she laughs.

The flavors are divided into chapters — Boozy Ice Creams, 80-Proof Specialties, Cocktails on a Cone, Spike Sorbets and Sherbets, Tropical Treats By the Scoop, and Tipsy Sundaes and Floats.

Lum says she is most proud of the Maple with Bourbon flavor because they taste so good together, and she was pleased when they finally figured out how to make the Pomegranate Margarita.
