Enjoying the all-purpose pear

Pears not only taste good, they are a healthy choice too.
Levulose, the sweetest of known natural sugars, is found to a greater extent in fresh pears than any other fruit. And did you know fresh pears have no cholesterol, sodium or saturated fat? They offer a natural, quick source of energy due largely to high amounts of fructose and glucose. Pears are a good source of natural fiber, potassium and vitamin C. And last but not least, a pear is a nutrient-dense food, providing more nutrients per calorie than calories per nutrient, all according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
There are several varieties of pear in a variety of colors including green, golden yellow and red with only slight differences in flavor and texture. All have a sweet, rich flavor. Oh, and did I mention how versatile they are in both sweet and savory dishes.
Well, let’s not waste any more time talking about them and get to it, shall we.

Too bad that much of the time, those thoughts seem to focus on trivial matters, like "I wonder what we'll be having for dinner?" or "Where did my younger son put the comics?"
My thoughts sometimes run so deep that I unintentionally shut off the outside world. Either that, or my one-track mind is unable to focus on more than one thing at a time.
One morning, a human voice attempted to interrupt my deep thoughts.
"Smmmf rrng wfd tssstr."
Pop!
Mysteriously, my brain had detected outside interference, and the voice had registered. The outside world could no longer be held at bay. Intense thinking had been breached, and my mind snapped out of its deep thoughts,
