Suddenly, there's a need for a lot more and Hanson's firm is gearing up to meet the demand.
"I'm just overwhelmed with emails right now from people all over the country and all over the world who want to help."
This is a business, but Hanson says the relief effort also makes his company and staff part of something bigger.
"A lot of the people I've worked with, the Christian organizations, I'm getting emails from and the stories are just heartbreaking."
Hanson says he's donating some units and discounting others and when the purifiers start leaving his company in the next few days they may also carry a more personal message to the children of Haiti.
