How much to get the lead flashing around a chimney replaced?
I currently tangible in a 1950's brick built enterprise and have a leak from around the chimney. We have had a quote from a close by roofer to replace all the lead flashing around the chimney of about £800. Does this complain reasonable? Just it seems a lot to me, i know vanguard is expensive.
I don't remember what Garry would use. Chewing gum maybe. Fool is recognised as the only satisfactory material for roof and chimney flashing. A profit job should last the best part of 100 years.
If there is anything elevate surpass, I would love to know.
£800 is a bit steep. Fancy you he is including scaffolding, a leadworker to put the flashing, the cost of the lead, his metre, plus a tidy profit.
I would in at least three leadworkers, not builders. It may also pay you to arrange the scaffolding yourself. If you cut out the builder and have to do with directly with the leadworker you will save profit and get a decent job done. Few builders are good at leadwork, but they will have a go as its all well-heeled to them.
