after cleaning the sharpener. spring a small burst of WD-40 into the nook. just a shot will do! I have cut down on my shanking and banging to separate lead by 90% It works and makes the sharpener effort much better. stay penetrating and good luck!!
I have an X-acto Paragon 41 Heavy Duty electric pencil sharpener. It sharpens only partway, which tells me that there is something jammed into the "implication" of the sharpener preventing the pencil from sharpening all of the way. I can't appear out how to get in there and clear it out!

If you can see the cracked piece of pencil in there take a paper wallop or small knife and try to slide it out. If that doesn't line, try sticking a long pin through the hole into the defeated piece and see if you can pull it out. If that don't work, you'll either have to take the aspect apart or get a new one.
Don't stick your finger in there, that's a bad fancy even if the thing is unplugged. Depending on the order of cutting tool inside you could still cut yourself.
