I mull over you'd need to be VERY careful with a gas dryer. You couldn't accumulation it directly onto a washing machine. It's not that a dryer's too melancholy, but a washing machine vibrates. Or could you simply stand it on a worktop which would go over the top of the washer and be independently supported? I have stacked my ungenerous electric tumbler dryer just on top of my small fridge freezer for years, without problems. Not ecologically excellent, because of a heating machine very close to a cooling one, but the dryer has an air gap under it, and it's not occupied every day. And it solves a space problem - three appliances in the time for one. A better way to save space than using a washer-dryer.
