International Dispensing Corporation Signs Global Supply Deal with PepsiCo
01.01.70
NEW YORK, Dec 01, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
International Dispensing Corporation (IDC) (IDND.PK) and PepsiCo
announced today the signing of a multiyear global supply agreement for
IDC's proprietary dispensing tap, The Answer(R). The world's only
certified aseptic tap, The Answer(R) prevents microorganisms from
compromising product safety even during prolonged unrefrigerated use, a
key technological "unlock" to solving this long-standing challenge.
Under the agreement, PepsiCo will buy The Answer(R) taps for use in a wide
variety of PepsiCo non-carbonated ready-to-drink beverages as well as
syrups and concentrates. The agreement between IDC and PepsiCo will
maximize exposure of the multi-serve aseptic package, and it is expected
to result in a number of product launches in regions around the world
starting in early 2012. Following the IDC-PepsiCo 2010 "Letter of
Intent" agreement, the companies have been working together to develop
and commercialize The Answer(R) as a unique selling proposition and core
PepsiCo branding opportunity. The companies see significant growth
potential for such a package in both emerging and mature markets, in
both foodservice and retail channels.
