Incident tells me that the largest meal I make a show in a pot is when I cook corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. I sketch to add the potatoes and cabbage at the end of the cooking. Based on a gracious average-sized corned beef (that comes in a unit at the grocery store), plus the other ingredients, what scope pressurecooker should I buy? Of course I'm also puzzling over whether to buy a Kuhn, WMF, Fissler, Magefesa, etc. etc. Thanks! I positive nothing about pressure cooking!
I liking my pressure cooker.
Get one that is bigger than you think you will need. I say this because you do indigence a bit of room in the cooker but there is also the possibility that you may end up cooking more in the pressure cooker as you use it more.
It is also solicitous as a soup pot.
I start my split pea or bean soup by pressure cooking the big ham bone. Lots of flavor that way.
I scarcely saw and electric pressure cooker at Costco for under $70.00 I dream. The one I have is by Fagor.
Look for a pressure cooker that has good sanctuary features. The old one I had had a weight that could be adjusted for varied pressures. Low pressure could be used for vegetables and the heavier clout would be used for meats. Most of the pressure cookers will influence with a recipe book play with the recipes in the record and before long you will be adjusting your own recipes.
I call it a crock pot on steroids. It will take the same breakfast you put in a crock pot for 8-10 hours and do it in in 45 minutes or less.
Where ever you get your pressure cooker return sure of the return policy, hardly in case you don't like it. Bed Bath and Beyond, with their 20%off coupon might be a substantial place to start. They have a good come back policy.

How do I fix my pressure cooker?
Sep 07, 2009 by Alyssa | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I received a Instantaneous II Super-Fast Pressure Cooker (made by Magefesa) from someone who no longer wanted it. The incorrigible is the pressure indicator doesn't work; it's putative to move up and down to indicate the pressure but it just stays where it is. I've tried fetching it apart and reassembling it but I think I made things worse! I've already contacted the fabricator but from what I can tell they don't make this particular representation anymore. I'd really like to be proficient to use it! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it? Is it possible to use it safely without it, and if so, what is the get the better of way to know that it's reached maximum (or desired) pressure?
The insight I suspect that it's broken is because the first time I in use accustomed to it, the pressure was high enough that the rubber ring was source to bulge, I could hear boiling, and I could condone the whistling of steam but it looked like it was being released in the good location. Can I test it by putting some drinking-water in and letting it boil for awhile to see if I've just been too wimpy to let it get up to full pressure? (I've never cast-off one before so I have no idea.)
Dilbert: THANK YOU! It does NOT move at all, I've tried poking at it, etc, and nothing happens. Undoubtedly broken! I wonder if there is anything I can do to fix it. I've been to Magefesa.com but I don't think they vote in as this model anymore so I worry that replacement parts might not be handy either. Oh, well. Thanks for your response!
I changed my respond completely, because I just now went to my pressure cooker and noticed that I can undoubtedly test the pressure gauge when it's at room temperature. Unreservedly put your finger where the pressure goes, and see if you can easily shove it to make the pressure indicator move. If you can push it hands down, but the pressure indicator doesn't move, it implies it must be kaput or something.
