Perculator - Kitchen Appliances - Kitchen Appliances

Can you grind your own coffee beans to use in a perculator or do you need to buy already ground coffee?

Might aspect like a stupid question but i only ever buy on ground stuff and fancy grinding my own. But do you sine qua non a special coffee machine to do the own teach stuff or does an old style perculator line (my perculator was my nannas and is fom the 70's i think - it looks well coolness and retro).

Also does it taste nicer when you travail your own or does it just taste the same.

Buy a coffee mill. I don't be aware what they cost now, but I got mine 30 years ago for $10. You can buy whole beans. I buy lightly roasted beans and exhaust the roast. Then I grind and brew. I have in mind it tastes much better.

***** added info *****

End has one for $20.

ITS TIME FOR DA PERCULATOR

PERCULATOR

Live it. Learn it. Love it. This means you, Oregon.

I love vote by mail in some ways, not so much in others. I love it because I get to submit my ballot on my own timeline. What I miss is the actual visit to my voting precinct, the feeling of participating with my fellow citizens in exercising my right to vote. I miss the opportunity to teach-by-doing, of taking my daughter with me to vote. I miss the retired ladies staffing the tables, and from my childhood, I miss the cheap cookies and the smell of weak perculator coffee. --sigh--

I know, weak coffee and kind old ladies have little to do with voting, but I do miss it.

So... rather than mail my ballot, I recapture a tiny speck of that sense of participatory democracy by walking my ballots to the closest drop box available to me, which happens to be the Lane County Elections Office in Eugene. It's provides a small taste of that old style of voting. Slapping a stamp on an envelope and popping it in the mail is, while convenient, just not the same.

Glad to know Portland is providing voters with info so they can drop their ballots directly. Smart move!
