Is a downdraft vent on a stove top enough to prevent damage under a 42" cabinet, without a vent hood above?

We are erection a home and originally, the stove was on the center key with a downdraft. We requested it be moved to the side marker under the cabinets. They were supposed to put up a hood range for ventilation. We have 42" cabinets. Break apart to find now that its in, they say they dont need the top vent because they will pass jurisprudence inspection as it is. We are concerned that the smoke/steam of cooking will impair the cabinets above the stove top without a top vent. It only has a downdraft vent built into the stove top.

I ponder that you will be just fine. Assuming that the down diagram is built into the cook top, or was originally installed with it, the vent would/should move the required CFMs per the stoves requirements. I am doing a remodel on my cookhouse and installing a down draft cook top. My originator is locating the cook top on a "peninsula" which does also have cabinetry above it, and didn't even become an consummation.

How can I clean an over the range microwave vent hood?

I have recently noticed a bad reserve coming from the microwave. Upon further inspection of the microwave I have fixed it to be the problem. There is grease building up in the inland spaces of the microwave that you can not get to without taking the microwave singly. Any suggestions? I think I will eventually get rid of the microwave/vent combo and go with a routine vent hood, but for now I just need some suggestions on how to get this grease build up winsome care of. Thanks.

You can take the microwave out and trim it good. Or you can buy some degrease in a spray starch and stray in as far as you can.
If you have some space take a long handled undergrowth much like the ones sold for cleaning out the back of your refrigerator.
It's a itty-bitty twisted wire handle so it will reach very far and has a critical brush on the end.

Bartlesville firefighters respond to Sonic grease fire

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - A grease fire Wednesday night at Bartlesville's east side Sonic Drive-In resulted in no structural damage or injuries, according to Bartlesville fire officials.

“It looked about 100 times worse than it actually ended up being,” Bartlesville Fire Chief Bob told 2News.

He said shortly after 8 p.m. firefighters were dispatched to Sonic located at the Nowata Road and Washington Boulevard intersection due to a fire.

Firefighters arriving on scene three minutes later saw heavy black smoke and flames pouring out of the roof through the kitchen hood vent.

Hasbrook said workers in the kitchen had been cleaning out a deep fat fryer when the grease caught fire sending flames into the hood vent, lighting grease that had built up in the vent. The manager on duty seeing the flames tried using a fire extinguisher, but it was not until a system built in the hood kicked on that the kitchen fire was brought under control.

Firefighters then arriving on scene put out the remaining fire in the hood vent and kitchen after PSO had cut power to the building. They left after spending two hours knocking down the flames and doing clean-up operations.
