Former additional private secretary to A Raja, Aseervatham Achary on Tuesday claimed that were deep differences between his boss and the then telecom secretary DS Mathur and that Mathur had been 'shouted at or abused' by Raja on a number of occasions in 2007.
Achary, CBI's key prosecution witness in the case, told the Special CBI court that when the grant of 2G spectrum licences was the 'burning issue', Raja shouted at Mathur a number of times. Testifying as the seventh prosecution witness in the case, Achary said that between November and December 2007, a rift was growing between Raja and Mathur and the Minister had himself told him about this.
Deposing before Special CBI Judge OP Saini, Achary said, "I know the burning issues in the Ministry at that time were licences and spectrum. It is correct that I had typed the letters (sent to the PM) and so I knew (what) the burning issues in the ministry (was). I could infer that whatever discussions took place between the Minister and the secretary concerned one of these issues."

The bank, he said, wouldn't return calls or emails. Staring at a potential fourth missed closing date on Friday and the prospect of being charged daily fees by the seller, Williams vented his frustration in song.
