Acer brings in easy, sexy

MANILA, Philippines — The Iconia Tab A500, Acer's Android Honeycomb tablet, brings easy-to-use tech in a Technology is supposed to be easy.
But when you're dragging a bulky laptop bag down the office stairs and into the cafe, squinting to read the description of a YouTube clip from a lackluster phone screen, or thumbing time and again to find a single file, bookmark, task, or app, "easy" is the last word that comes to mind.
It is to bring "easy"—and "sexy"—back that Acer, known for breaking the barriers between people and technology, has recently introduced the Acer Iconia Tab A500. As the company's first 10.1-inch tablet device based on the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) platform, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 brings a showcase of technologies that are easy-to-use and packs it into a sleek, compact form factor that's easy to carry and even easier to look at.
To distinguish the Acer Iconia Tab A500 from all the other tablets in the market, Acer designed it with a 0.52-inch-thin and 1.69-pound silver alpine brushed aluminum unibody casing. Not only does this elegantly protect the tablet's cutting-edge components; it also frames a gorgeous 10.1-inch multi-touchscreen display, which, on its own, is also a visual stunner: 1280 by 800 WXGA resolution, a high contrast ratio, and extra-wide viewing angles. So whatever it is you're doing—browsing the Web, checking E-mails, connecting to your Facebook and Twitter networks, watching full-length movies, reading an e-book, or playing HD games—it's bound to look big, bright, and beautiful on the Iconia Tab.

Easy Pickings: Defense does job for Seminoles in victory over Florida
01.01.70
GAINESVILLE — Florida State has seized control of its rivalry with nemesis Florida.
The Seminoles didn’t have to exert much energy to take it.
FSU gained 95 yards of offense, but took advantage of four UF interceptions en route to a 21-7 victory over the Gators on senior day Saturday night at Florida Field in front of 90,798 fans. The Seminoles now have consecutive wins over UF for the first time since 2003 and snapped a three-game skid in The Swamp.
In two years as FSU coach, Jimbo Fisher’s Seminoles have outscored the Gators 52-14.
With neither team ranked nor playing in its respective conference championship game, FSU was able to salvage a positive for its season.
The Seminoles (8-4) will await their bowl destination.
“Very excited, very happy,” Fisher said. “By no means pretty, but you don’t come here and win very often, so it feels good. One of the best performances I’ve seen defensively in last 20 years.”
