MELBOURNE, Australia November, 2011 – Mother’s the world over have long been on a quest to find the easiest, safest and most convenient way to store breast milk. Thankfully a Melbourne mother who was at her wits end has come to the rescue. Qubies – an innovative ‘upside down’ ice cube tray - provides a simple and hygienic solution for mothers who want to freeze breast milk and pureed baby food. – automatically dividing the contents into convenient 30 ml cubes so mums know exactly how much their baby is getting at each feed. www.qubies.com.au/
The contents are simply poured into the ‘tray’ and the soft silicon lid which fits securely around the BPA-free base acts as both lid and divider. http://qubies.com.au/
Qubies Creator and Company Director Alexandra Wardle explains, “The silicon lid divides equally every time making portion control a breeze ensuring you give your baby exactly what they need. If they are still hungry after the initial feed, it’s easy for mums to defrost another cube or two and avoid wastage. It also fits snugly ensuring that food remains frost free, doesn’t absorb any freezer smells and won’t leak in your freezer. Its slim-lined design maximises freezer space because as a mum I know how full a freezer can become!”

Countdown to Halloween: Creepy, Crawly Cocktail
01.01.70
Shawn and Rachel continued our countdown to Halloween Monday morning by making a Creepy, Crawly Cocktail featuring a secret ingredient: cockroaches!
What you'll need:
- Fake cockroaches
- Ice cube trays
- Blue liquid (we used blue Hawaiian Punch)
- Yellow liquid (we used lemonade)
- Fun straws
- Clear glasses
Directions:
1. Fill ice cube tray with Hawaiian Punch. Place cockroaches (cleaned with antibacterial dish soap) in ice cube sections with blue liquid. Plan on two roaches per drink. Fill another tray with Hawaiian Punch for cubes without cockroaches. Freeze.
2. Pour lemonade into clear plastic glasses, add a couple blue ice cubes and a couple with cockroaches.
3. Add a fun straw. This not only looks cool, it helps to avoid choking hazards.
Kids will love to watch the color change as the cubes melt!
Note: If you don't feel comfortable putting non-edible items into a drink for children, you can use candy corns in place of the cockroaches, colorful balls of gelatin, or any spooky Halloween candy that will hold its shape.
