57 Reasons to Hate Homemade Ketchup
31.12.69

There may be no better embodiment of our collective condiment fetish than the National Harbor restaurant simply titled Ketchup . Its U-shaped bar glows in saucy neon red. Its walls feature artworks honoring the squeeze bottle. Its signature dish, the “threesome,” involves three styles of French fries accompanied by six kinds of ketchup—a kinky comfort food orgy intended for either intimate sharing or grotesque self-indulgence.
On a recent visit, the gauntlet of goopy dipping sauces arrives in the following order: First, a spicy but thin orange chipotle. Next up, a chunky and tart “bacon” ketchup that, frankly, doesn’t taste much like bacon. These are followed by a sweet and syrupy honey-based sauce, a zesty chutney-like substance and a creamy fruity flavor that I’m guessing is apricot.
Not a single one of these sauces is especially good or even memorable. Until you try No. 6. That one is bold and robust—thick, salty, sweet, and savory. And it goes great with all three types of fries.

COLLEGE SOCCER ASU ends home slate with draw

Friday's Senior Day match against Incarnate Word almost had a storybook finish for Angelo State University forward Brandie DeBacker.
With about 4 minutes left in the second half, DeBacker put a shot in the back of the net, but it didn't count because she was called offside by one of the referees.
The Belles ended up having to settle for a 1-1 double-overtime draw in their Lone Star Conference regular-season finale at the ASU Soccer Field.
The Cardinals (5-7-5 overall and 3-7-4 in conference) got on the board first at the 20:12 mark of the first half when midfielder Sasha Vrany scored off an assist by Sydney Solomon.
The Belles (6-9-3, 5-6-3) tied it at 1-1 when junior midfielder Lauren Carnes scored on a corner kick at the 67:07 mark of the second half.
DeBacker and defender Megan Schaffer, ASU's two seniors, made their final home appearance.
If not for the goal that was called back, it would have been a fitting conclusion for DeBacker, who leads the team with eight goals and 19 points.
