Did this man start a fire in a Mississauga building?

Who is the portly man in orange overalls and a dark T-shirt?

Peel police say he started the blaze that trapped 100 people in a Mississauga building on Wednesday and caused an estimated $5 million in damage.

The fire was lit outside the third-floor office of Conservative MP Bob Dechert.

Images from a security videotape at 1270 Central Parkway W. show a man entering the six-storey building about 4:30 p.m. with a white canister in one hand and what looks like a barbecue lighter in the other.

Seven minutes later, police received multiple calls about a fire at the site.

"I can't say I recognize him," said Dechert on Thursday, minutes after the images had been released. "I've asked my staff to look at the photos, to look at them carefully, if they recognize him ... if he's ever come into the office." While his office is suspected to be the arsonist's target, Dechert (Mississauga-Erindale) said he has no reason to believe it is related to him.

Dead mouse, flourishing relationship

We were watching a Christmas special the first time my boyfriend saw it. I was reaching for a handful of popcorn when the blast from Jeremiah’s throat caused me to jump. As he sprang up from the couch I tried to make sense of what was happening.

“Mouse!” he exclaimed as he ran toward the kitchen. By now the furry object of his excitement was gone; having scampered into a nook or cranny after hearing a voice that didn’t hint his presence was a blessing.

“I know this is going to sound silly,” I said, “but please don’t kill it.”

My childhood had been filled with a variety of furry pets: rats, mice, and a functionally retarded hamster (who decided one day that attempting to eat his foot was the best idea since the hamster wheel). I’ve always had a soft spot for critters scaly or furry, although smartasses will be quick to point out that I have no moral qualms wolfing down a chicken sandwich. Nonetheless, I would never attempt to kill an unwelcome apartment guest, even if its eyes had the crazed look of rabies.

The kitchen is by far the most organized lodge in my blood. I find washing dishes and reorganizing foodstuffs totally calm, and when the kitchen is sanitize, I sensation a bit like my intention was the drawer I'd decluttered and dusted, with everything neatly put back in standing.

But that harmoniousness of plans is shattered every chance I value of my seasoning drawer, or rather the assemblage of storage spaces (including a drawer) that together endure b offer a mix of bags, bottles and jars of spices. Too many times I have bought more cinnamon or smoked paprika because I missed the half-full jar stuffed in a drawer or sitting on a shelf. The disarray discourages me from experimenting, and it makes any bite-burdened plan take that much longer.

I am not alone in this conundrum. Kitchen style Web sites, tellingly cooking bull session boards and familiar blogs are filled with odes to the reliable seasoning framework (inevitably discontinued, incredibly extravagant or unusable in my kitchen) or at fault confessions about herb bowls and cluttered bins.

Our Columnist Tries His In collusion at the Grim Handle I fake my editors would opt for someone who could vocalize three-syllable words. I was go downhill. The giving out came down avid: By 11 a.m. on Thursday morning I was to recast myself as a self-confident pitchman of tchotchke, widget and thingamabob in the same manner.

After hyperventilating for a few expert days, I embraced my r as any savvy pitchman, actor or grifter would. I pored over upshot specs. I intentional Mr. Mays' speeches . I bought a shirt in Mr. Mays' patented color of sky dismal.
