Did the Colgate Co. back in the1900's make salt and pepper shakers??
I have what I thnk is a pepper shaker. It is binoculars , round and the top is metal that has a slide on it. You can slink it over and see the opening for something to pur out of it. On the bottom it says. I think... COLGATE CO. NEW YORK AND THAN THE LETTERS PEP. On the metal top it says. Patened Parade 27 1900
According to the reliable time line on the Colgate-Palmolive website, they've only ever produced soaps and toothpaste.
One fetish that did stick out to me was:

The PEP at the bottom of the jar *could* effort for peppermint.
But nothing shows up anywhere for salt and pepper shakers.

November Exhibit At Garden City Public Library
A Salt & Pepper Shaker Collection will be the Garden City Public Library’s November showcase display graciously loaned by Ellen F. Broder. Exhibits are FREE and open to the public during regular library hours. For hours and directions phone: 516/742-8405. The library is located at 60 Seventh St., Garden City, NY.
