does your child use utensils when they eat?

My 5 year old does, my 3 year old only uses a spoon with cereal and yougurt but wont use a fork ( but he's quite picky eater and only eats 'dry viands' not like spaghetti and sauce etc ) and my 18 mos old loves to use forks and spoons. Its indeed funny how she harpoons pasta and chicken pieces with her fork :) but she also uses her fingers.
My oldest didnt use them until he was like 3 and my mom was horrified that he would use his fingers to eat.. I never though it was such a big conduct oneself treat..

My 4-year-old has been using utensils since he was 12 months. It's integrity for them because it helps them learn fine motor skills and helps develop their hand-eye coordination. And it's never too early to start on manners, either.

Seal (or Lose!) the Deal over the Interview Meal

, there are four general questions all hiring managers seek the answers to throughout the process: Can you do the job?; Will you do the job?; Do you want to do the job?; and, Are you a cultural fit ? Your etiquette (conforming or adhering to accepted standards of behavior) goes a long way toward  addressing this fourth question.

While I am not going to even attempt to address all of the potential “opportunities” for success (or failure) at the interview meal, I am going to address some very important and common ones:

The purpose of the meal . . . to eat or seal the deal? Linen secrets. Pasta, steak, burger or chicken? Where do I put those pesky sugar packages? Oops! I am going to sneeze. I really want a beer! Sip or sop? There are too many utensils here! That devious cherry tomato! Do I cut one bite of meat, two to three bites, or all of it? I can’t swallow this!

Casa D'Italia's Disarming Likability

It seemed cordial to agree, but "good" is a loaded adjective for a professional restaurant critic. Was it good when I had to coax vivacity from a sullen gorgonzola cream sauce with a salt shaker? Was it good when my rigatoni wept oil? Over the course of two multicourse meals, had I encountered any dishes worth quoting to skeptics who aren't keen on seeking out noodles and cheese in Ravenna ?

Such clear-eyed reasoning would have been impossible within the confines of the 32-seat restaurant, made even smaller by a clutter of family photographs, cookbooks with broken spines, olive-oil tins, and pasta boxes. In the dimly lit dining room, a tidal pool of hospitality, it feels heartless to size up dishes scrawled on a chalkboard that's updated according to what chef and owner Anthony Donatone found on his most recent market trip. Only a very bitter diner could quibble with meatball cooking times and Chianti temperatures while a server was gently explaining gluten-free options to a concerned guest and Donatone was quietly prodding a staffer to check whether the bathrooms were still spotless.
