D&W Fine Pack™ to Acquire Major Chicago-Based Packaging Group

/PRNewswire/ -- D&W Fine Pack LLC, a leader in the
foodservice packaging industry, is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement to acquire CM Packaging Group, based in Lake Zurich, Ill. The transaction, which is expected to close in late November, is subject to regulatory approval and an affirmative vote by the participants in the CM Packaging Group's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
Comprised of three business units, CM Packaging, Stone Plastics and PDI, CM Packaging Group is a manufacturer of rigid plastic thermoformed containers and aluminum containers serving the restaurant, grocery, bakery, produce and food processor markets.
The acquisition will advance the D&W strategy to be a national supplier of disposable foodservice containers and other products serving the at-home and away-from-home markets. The CM Packaging Group's business will complement the D&W product offering, with both stock and custom products, and add five manufacturing locations. Following the acquisition, revenues will approach $400 million. The company will employ 1,600 and operate from 11 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

The following is copied directly from the Cook County State's Attorney's Office news release passed out to the media on Friday morning regarding updates to the Kelli O'Laughlin murder case and the charges against her alleged killer, John L. Wilson.
"The defendant, John L. Wilson Jr., of the 7900 block of South Lafayette, Chicago, Ill., whose date of birth is August 10, 1973, has been charged by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office with the following offenses: First Degree Felony Murder, First Degree Murder, and Residential Burglary. It is alleged that he stabbed to death Kelli O'Laughlin, age 14.
On Oct. 27, 2011, Indian Head Park Police, in response to a 911 call, arrived at the residence located in the 6300 block of Keokuk, Indian Head Park, in Cook County, Illinois, and observed that Kelli had been stabbed in the back, neck and chest. The victim was transported to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner, Dr. Nancy Jones, found the victim had died as result of multiple stab wounds and ruled the manner of death was a homicide.
