GE Profile Spacemaker XL 1800 Microwave: turntable grinds and turns more slowly. Is this easily repairable?

Grinding blare started about a month ago. Turn step on it has decreased from 3 RPMs to about 2 RPMs. Grinding spread does not occur if turntable is off. Everything else seems to be working correctly. Is there a part I can make restitution for myself, or must i call for service?

If the oven is extensive enough, they make windup turntables that will do the job and will probable be far less expensive than genuine replacement parts.

Why won't my microwave turntable stop spinning?

I have GE microwave and the turntable is in activity when the door is off and the oven is not being used. The only be that as it may it does not spin is with the door unstinting. GE's website is very difficult to search through and there is no direct attention to of such an issue in the handbook. There is an on/off switchh on the microwave, but I've already tried that. Any ideas?

You may not turn to a microwave to roast a Thanksgiving turkey or bake an obligatory fruitcake, but it’s handy to have one around the holidays. Just think of all the leftovers. There’s no need to buy an expensive model with as many buttons as your remote, especially if all you plan to do is heat up plates of meat and potatoes or the occasional cup of cocoa. Microwaves in this price range are countertop models, as opposed to space-saving built-in or over-the-range microwaves, which can cost upward of $400. Given that a countertop microwave will take up workspace in your kitchen, size is something to watch. Note also that larger exterior dimensions don’t necessarily translate to more space inside. If you’re cooking for more than one person or want to have room for, say, a casserole dish, look for at least a cubic foot of interior space.
