How do you find/install a replacement over-stove kitchen exhaust fan?

Are is making witty noises and dying. The hood is labeled with the name brand Nautilus. But I'm not sure how to tell what the working model is. This range is over 10 years old, so not accurate what the match it up with a replacement model.

It looks rather straightforward to replace, but any tips in that range would be great!

The exhaust fan in my older copy JennAir kitchen range makes a squealing, rattling rattle about 60% of the time. Turning it on/off several times as usual reverses it back to being quiet. WD 40 solves the quandary temporarily. Any suggestions on how to permanently fix this? Thanks.
