Other ways to stop the sweat
• Over-the-counter antiperspirants. Commercial antiperspirants are the first line of defense. Most work by temporarily plugging sweat ducts; they contain up to 12 percent of the active ingredient aluminum chloride.
• Prescription antiperspirants. Products containing a higher dose of aluminum chloride (20 percent) are applied at night. These are often recommended for hand and feet sweating. Superstrength antiperspirants can cause skin irritation and can damage clothing.
• Oral prescription medication. Anticholinergics drugs, most often used for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), help to prevent the stimulation of sweat glands. Side effects include dry mouth, dizziness and urination problems.
• Iontophoresis. This FDA-approved procedure uses electricity to temporarily turn off the sweat glands. Hands or feet are placed into water and then a gentle current of electricity is passed through the skin. The therapy takes about 20 minutes and requires three sessions per week at a doctor’s office or using a home unit (about $600). The effectiveness of this treatment varies from patient to patient.

Sharp equips the kitchen and classroom with new products

SYDNEY, NSW: Sharp has launched a new Microwave Oven targeted at Australians who want to stay in and cook, rather than heading out.
The R350Y Midsize Inverter Sensor Microwave Oven offers users cooking convenience that doesn’t require them to slave over a hot stove, according to Sharp’s national marketing manager, Mark Beard.
“Sharps Inverter technology has been incorporated into the R350Y to ensure even cooking results through the use of descending cooking sequences,” said Beard. “These sequences directly control the power by adjusting the levels gradually, much similar to the ‘volume control’ of a radio.”
“Sharps integration of inverter and sensor functions ensures cooking is faster and more controlled and in turn allowing entertainers to socially interact whilst dinner cooks itself” said Beard.
The Microwave Oven features 1200 watts of power, 11 power levels and an auto-start option with additional ‘More/Less’ settings. The sensor cook and sensor reheat functions automatically detect cooking times for food, and it also boasts several auto menus – including express defrost, easy defrost and melt/soften.
